Les anciennes cartes postales fournissent des renseignements précieux
surdes arbres qui eurent leur heure de gloire, et qui n’existent plus.
C’est le cas des arbres de la Liberté, tel celui qui trônait autrefois dans
le bourg de Marolette, et dont on n’a apparemment pas gardé le souvenir.
Le marronnier de Bourg-le-Roi
a lui aussi disparu.

Mais les habitants, restés
très attachés au souvenir
de leur arbre, ont planté
en 1976 un jeune marronnier
pour lui succéder.
